We have worked with city Parks and Recreation departments and nearby hockey programs in Center Point, Coralville, Hiawatha, Iowa City, Marion, Mount Vernon, and Solon. Email us today at kingfisherlacrosse@gmail.com to inquire about future clinic opportunities.

2024 Spring Program

The focal point of the lacrosse season is Spring. For Spring 2024, we will support Boys play at 10U, 12U, 14U and High School and for Girls we have 10U, 12U and High School teams.

We will support a full season of practice. On field practices can be expected to begin after spring break (March 18) as fields become available. Once on field practice begins, each age group can anticipate practicing 2-4 times per week.

Games generally will occur on weekends. Travel will be required. Given the state of lacrosse in the State of Iowa, our sister clubs are located in the greater Des Moines area (Ames, Ankeny, Waukee, and West Des Moines), the Meskwaki Settlement, Dubuque, and the Quad Cities. Our intent will be to schedule several games during any one particular travel day to make the most of everyone’s time and commitment. We also may travel to Illinois for select opportunities. The older age groups will face the heaviest travel expectations. We anticipate keeping our younger players on an intra-Iowa schedule (with perhaps a few cross-border excursions near the Quad Cities or Dubuque).

The Spring Season ends with youth boys and girls playing at the Iowa Lacrosse Association State Championships, High School boys will play for the Eastern Iowa Lacrosse Championship, select High School Girls are competing with Ankeny in the Midwest Girls Lacrosse League.

Girls Teams

We have play opportunities for girls ages 5 – 18. In our inagural season we focused on building a firm lacrosse foundation. In ‘24, we are supporting our own teams at the 10U and 12U level. Our 13 and over players will compete on a modified schedule, with some advanced players joining with Ankeny to compete in the Midwest Girls Lacrosse League.

Boys Teams

We have opportunities for boys ages 5 – 18. Our 10U, 12U and 14U teams compete in the Iowa Lacrosse Asssociation youth league. Our High School Boys regularly play all the other teams in Iowa, some Illinois or Wisconsin opponents, and participate in the Eastern Iowa Lacrosse League.

Adult League

In partenrship with Solon Parks & Recreation we will have experienced coaches and former college players at our field to introduce the sport and support a relaxed play format. If you have been itching to give lacrosse a try or are simply curious, now is the time to try. If you have prior lacrosse experience come join us this summer too!

From Solon Parks & Recreation: Those 18 and older can learn the basics & fundamentals of lacrosse while incorporating what you learn into scrimmages & games! Registration link: https://secure.rec1.com/IA/solon-ia/catalog
