2022 Spring Program

The focal point of the lacrosse season is Spring. For Spring 2022, we plan to support competitive play for Boys at the youth, middle school, and high school levels. For the Girls, we will strive for the same but may have to cooperate with another Club for joint play at certain age groups.

We will support a full season of practice. On field practices can be expected to begin around spring break (mid-March) as fields become available. Some indoor training options may occur starting in late January/early February if we can locate venues. Once on field practice begins, each age group can anticipate practicing 2-4 times per week.

Games generally will occur on weekends. Travel will be required. Given the state of lacrosse in the State of Iowa, our sister clubs are located in the greater Des Moines area (Ames, Ankeny, Waukee, DSM Roosevelt, and West Des Moines), the Tama Settlement, Dubuque, and the Quad Cities. Our intent will be to schedule several games during any one particular travel day to make the most of everyone’s time and commitment. We also may travel to Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, or Missouri for select opportunities. The older age groups will face the heaviest travel expectations. We anticipate keeping our younger players on an intra-Iowa schedule (with perhaps a few cross-border excursions near the Quad Cities or Dubuque).

The high school level season will end prior to Memorial Day. Youth level play extends to early June to accomodate appearances in the Iowa Games.

Girls Teams

We have play opportunities for girls ages 5 – 18. In our inagural season we focused on building a firm lacrosse foundation. In ‘22, we hope to grow the number of participants across the age groups to support team play opportunities. We expect to work in partnership with nearby clubs to provide co-op opportunities should we not have sufficient numbers to field entire teams of our own.

Boys Teams

We have opportunities for boys ages 5 – 18. We beleive in the firm foundation small-sided lacrosse builds in younger players with U10 teams competing 4 versus 4 and our U12 team playing 7 versus 7 against other Iowa teams. Our U14 team and high school team compete in the Iowa Lacrosse Association and occasionaly the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association

Adult League

In partenrship with Solon Parks & Recreation we will have experienced coaches and former college players at our field to introduce the sport and support a relaxed play format. If you have been itching to give lacrosse a try or are simply curious, now is the time to try. If you have prior lacrosse experience come join us this summer too!

From Solon Parks & Recreation: Those 18 and older can learn the basics & fundamentals of lacrosse while incorporating what you learn into scrimmages & games! Registration link: https://secure.rec1.com/IA/solon-ia/catalog
